Bytessence MPxConverter

Videos may not play so well on cheap MP4 players or clones of popular brands. In situations like this, you should reduce the video's quality or convert it to a different format. Unlike most converters on the market, Bytessence MPxConverter is aimed directly at these cheap devices. It allows you to convert videos to AVI or AMV, the proprietary format of MP4 players, and modify their quality settings.

The application is free and open source. Its files can be extracted directly from a ZIP archive, so there is no need to go through an installation process and you can use the application on other computers, from a removable memory device. It is available in various languages and it works on Windows and Linux platforms.

To convert one or more files, you must add them to a list, on the application's interface and click a button, located on a toolbar. You can prioritize your files, by moving them up or down in the list. Bytessence MPxConverter will process them, one by one, in logical order.

The output settings can be made when loading the files. You can target almost any video files on a small window, on which you can also select a format, framerate, audio and video quality, a resolution and aspect ratio. You can set the application to convert your files to AVI, for Sunplus players or AMV, for Actions players. The available resolutions and aspect ratios are predefined specifically for the selected devices. Although there is a single input field for the video files, you can select multiple videos, on a standard Open dialog. All the selected files will be added to the main interface, with the same output settings.

Speed is another advantage of Bytessence MPxConverter. The software is capable of processing the loaded files quite fast, even with high quality settings. Furthermore, the program's controls are easy to understand, so you should not have any kind of difficulties while converting your videos.
